Sinful Review - Treachery (2013

Desire is a powerful thing and the lies we spin can control us. We tend to reap what we sow and often we don’t realize it until it’s too late. These two things are the fabric of an involving tale from Blanc-Biehn Productions called Treachery.

Treachery is the story of two couples and the lies that threaten to tear their lives apart. Henry (Michael Biehn) and Cecilia (Sarah Butler) have been seeing each other for a while, Cecilia is definitely more into the relationship then Henry but that’s not their biggest problem. They are actually with other people, and for her, it happens to be Henry’s son. When an additional complication arises, secrets begin to bubble to the surface, accusations fly, and someone turns up dead.

The cast is solid with Michael Biehn (Terminator, The Victim) and Sarah Butler (I Spit on your Grave) leading the cast with strong performances. Also adding some class to the mix is Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (The Victim), and Caitlin Keats (Kiss of the Damned). With all this talent, how does Mathew Ziff hold up as Biehn's son? Very good. Being surrounded by powerful actors can dwarf many new performers but Mathew holds his own in the film and is a fine match for Biehn.

Treachery is a smart thriller that asks a lot of questions and looks at a lot of truths about relationships. There is the death angle of course, but the film is more about these people’s lives and the consequences of their actions than anything else. Definitely worth a look.
